Hollow Map

In "Hollow Map" I have channeled the essence of cartography through an abstract lens. This collage is an exploration of the spaces between places, the pauses in conversation, and the uncharted territories of the human experience.

I've used a variety of materials and textures to represent the different landscapes we encounter, both physically and emotionally. The monochromatic scheme punctuated with occasional bursts of color and pattern resembles the diverse ways in which we navigate our world and understand our own paths.

The title "Hollow Map" suggests a map that guides us to look beyond the surface, to the hollow spaces that are filled with potential for discovery and understanding. This work is an invitation to ponder the maps we create for ourselves, the ones we follow, and the ones we sometimes choose to leave behind.

This collage is a contemporary interpretation of traditional mapping, a blend of recognizable motifs with abstract elements that challenge the viewer to find their own meaning.
